Descriptive Writing – Paragraph about a Person
- Write a description of a Person who is important to you. It could be a your mom, your dad, a friend, a coach, someone you love dearly, or someone you hold up as a hero. You could go the other way and choose someone who you intensely dislike or you hurt you in the past.
- Show. Don’t tell. Paint the picture of who you are describing so that the reader can see and fully understand him or her.
- Appeal to the senses – sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell
- Decide what your dominant impression is about the person– does he represent peace? Evil? Comfort? Love? Romance? Silliness? Decide what you want the reader to know about each choice.
- Use the tools that we have explored in descriptive writing.
